Peer Review Process

The JETLING Journal  is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic rigor and integrity through a double-blind peer review process. All submitted manuscripts undergo thorough evaluation by expert reviewers in the field of English language teaching and learning to ensure that only high-quality research is published.

Submission and Initial Evaluation: Upon submission, each manuscript is first assessed by the journal’s editorial team for alignment with the journal's scope and quality standards. Manuscripts that meet the preliminary criteria are sent for peer review. In cases where the submission does not meet the journal’s standards, authors will be informed, and their manuscript will be rejected at this stage.

Double-Blind Review: For the peer review process, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed from each other to ensure an impartial evaluation. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two experts in the relevant area of English teaching and learning. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in areas such as language acquisition, pedagogy, technology integration, or teacher education, depending on the subject matter of the submission.

Review Criteria: Reviewers assess the manuscript based on a variety of factors, including:

  • Originality and Contribution: The extent to which the paper offers new insights or contributions to the field of English teaching and learning.
  • Relevance to the Field: How well the topic aligns with current trends, challenges, or debates within the field.
  • Research Design and Methodology: The soundness and appropriateness of the research methods employed.
  • Clarity and Coherence: The overall quality of writing, structure, and clarity of arguments.
  • Ethical Considerations: Ensuring that ethical standards in research involving human participants or sensitive data are maintained.

Decision and Feedback: Based on the reviewers' comments and recommendations, the editorial team will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication with minimal or no revisions.
  • Minor Revisions: The manuscript is generally acceptable, but minor revisions are required before final acceptance.
  • Major Revisions: Substantial changes or additions are necessary for the manuscript to meet the journal's standards.
  • Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal’s criteria for publication.

Authors will receive detailed feedback from the reviewers to help them improve their manuscripts. Revisions are carefully evaluated to ensure the manuscript meets the required academic standards.

Ethical Standards: We adhere to the highest ethical standards throughout the peer review process. Reviewers are expected to evaluate submissions with objectivity, confidentiality, and integrity. Authors are encouraged to respond to reviewer comments constructively and promptly.

By ensuring a transparent and robust peer review process, the JETLING journal upholds its commitment to publishing impactful, high-quality research that advances the field of English language education.
