Author Guidelines
We welcome contributions to JETLING journal from researchers, educators, and practitioners in the field of English language education. To ensure that your submission is processed smoothly, please carefully read and follow the guidelines outlined below:
Scope of the Journal
The journal accepts original research articles, review papers, case studies, book reviews, and reflective essays that focus on all aspects of English language teaching and learning. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- Language acquisition and development
- Pedagogical approaches and teaching methodologies
- Digital learning and technology integration
- Teacher education and professional development
- Assessment and evaluation in English language learning
- Sociocultural perspectives in language teaching
- Curriculum design and innovation
Submission Process
- Manuscript Submission: All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through our online submission system. Please ensure that your manuscript adheres to the guidelines before submitting to avoid delays in the review process.
- Cover Letter: A cover letter should be included with the submission, briefly outlining the manuscript's contribution to the field and its relevance to the journal's scope.
- Ethical Considerations: Authors must ensure that their research complies with ethical standards, especially regarding human participants. Ethical approval and consent from participants must be provided where applicable.
- Plagiarism Check: All submissions will be checked for plagiarism. Manuscripts that contain plagiarized content will be rejected.
Manuscript Formatting
- Length: Manuscripts should be between 4,000 and 7,000 words (excluding references and appendices). This word limit includes the main text, tables, and figures.
- File Format: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Do not submit PDFs or other file formats.
- Font and Spacing: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, and double-spacing throughout the manuscript. The margins should be set to 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
- Title and Abstract: The title should be concise and descriptive. Include an abstract of 150-200 words summarizing the key points of your manuscript.
- Keywords: Provide 4-6 keywords that describe the content of your paper. These should help in indexing the manuscript and making it searchable.
Structure of the Manuscript
Manuscripts should follow the structure outlined below. Please ensure that your manuscript is organized into the following sections:
Title Page:
- Title of the manuscript
- Author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s)
- Corresponding author’s contact information (email address)
- Acknowledgments (if any)
Abstract and Keywords:
- A concise summary of the research (150-200 words)
- 4-6 keywords for indexing
Introduction:
- Clearly state the research question or problem.
- Provide the background and context of the study.
- Define the scope and objectives of the research.
Literature Review:
- Review existing literature relevant to your topic.
- Identify gaps or issues in the literature that your study addresses.
Methodology:
- Describe the research design, methods of data collection, and analysis.
- Include information about participants, ethical considerations, and any instruments used.
Results:
- Present the findings of your study in a clear and logical manner.
- Use tables, charts, and figures where appropriate.
Discussion:
- Interpret the results in relation to the literature.
- Discuss the implications of the findings for practice, policy, and future research.
Conclusion:
- Summarize the key findings and their significance.
- Offer recommendations or directions for future research.
References:
- Use APA (7th edition) referencing style for both in-text citations and the reference list.
Tables and Figures
- Tables and figures should be numbered sequentially and included within the manuscript (not as separate files).
- Each table and figure should have a descriptive title and be referenced in the text.
- Ensure that the quality of figures and images is high enough for clear reproduction.
References
- Follow APA (7th edition) citation style for all references.
- List all references alphabetically by the last name of the first author.
- Ensure that all references cited in the text are included in the reference list, and vice versa.
