Focus and scope

JETLING is an academic journal published by Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Banyuwangi. It publishes original research articles, review articles, and case studies. It aims to to disseminate scholarly information on research and development in a Foreign Language Teaching and Learning context. JETLING publishes two issues in a year, appearing in June and December. 

We encourage submissions that explore a wide range of topics, including:

  • Language Acquisition and Development: Theories, methods, and practices in English language learning, from second language acquisition (SLA) to bilingualism and multilingualism.
  • Pedagogical Approaches: Innovative teaching strategies, curriculum design, and assessments that enhance English learning outcomes.
  • Digital Learning and Technology: The integration of digital tools, platforms, and online environments in English language education.
  • Sociocultural Perspectives: The role of culture, identity, and social contexts in English language teaching and learning.
  • Teacher Education and Professional Development: Studies focused on the training and continuous professional growth of English language educators.
  • Language Skills Development: Research on the teaching of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in English, including integrated skill approaches.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Innovations and challenges in assessing English language proficiency and learning outcomes.

We welcome both empirical and theoretical articles, as well as case studies and book reviews contribute to the understanding and improvement of English language education practices.

By fostering an inclusive and interdisciplinary dialogue, JETLING aims to serve as a platform for scholars, educators, and practitioners committed to enhancing the effectiveness and accessibility of English language education worldwide.
