Peer Review Process

Journal of Agricultural Sustainability (JOAS) implements a peer review policy with the following stages:

1. Initial Review by Editor

• The submitted manuscript will be reviewed first by the editor to ensure compliance with the focus and scope of the journal, as well as compliance with the JOAS format/template.

• At this stage, the editor can contact the author for clarification or initial correction before the manuscript is forwarded to the review stage, or can immediately return/reject the manuscript if it is not appropriate.

2. Peer Review Process

• Manuscripts that pass the initial review stage will be sent to two or more independent reviewers using the double-blind review method (authors and reviewers are mutually anonymous).

• Reviewers will evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:
Novelty
• Objectivity
• Methodology
• Scientific contribution
• Clarity of conclusions
• Relevance and quality of references

3. Review Follow-up

• Reviewers will provide recommendations: accept without revision, accept with minor revision, accept with major revision, or reject.

• Reviewers will also provide comments and suggestions for improving the manuscript.

4. Final Decision by the Editor

• The editor will consider the results and recommendations of the reviewers to make a final decision: accept, request revision, or reject.

• The editor's decision is final.
